【Douglas Polonsky】
私の作品は信楽の土を使い、ガス窯で焼いています。手に馴染み、目にも楽しい作品になればと思っています。
今回の展覧会では主にコーヒーカップを展示しています。
大量生産のものと異なり、手仕事から生まれたカップは使う人の想像力を刺激し、日々の暮らしに温かく寄り添う存在になると信じています。
簡単に言えば、日本で飲む美味しいコーヒーは、丁寧に作られたカップで味わうことで、さらにその味わいが引き立つのです！
私はアメリカ人で、家族とともに30年間綾部に住んでいます。
My pots are made using clay from Shigaraki and are fired in a gas kiln. I hope that they will be attractive to the eye and comfortable in the hand.
In this exhibition, I am showing mostly coffee cups. I believe that unlike a cup made in a factory, a cup made by hand can stimulate the user’s imagination and become a warm, intimate part of a person’s daily life.
Said simply— the delicious coffee that we drink here in Japan is even better in a well-crafted cup!
I am American and have lived in Ayabe with my family for 30 years.


今回　まぃまぃ堂初参加のダグラスさん。
展覧会は初参加ですが
まぃまぃ堂を作るときにも大活躍してもらった
とっても長いお友達です。
今回　新しい工房で作り始められたので
是非是非と参加してもらいました。
作品についた「DP」が良い感じです。
